Ultrafast Laser Science and Engineering
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is inviting grant, contract, and cooperative agreement applications for PULSE (Program in Ultrafast Laser Science and Engineering), which seeks to enable efficient and agile use of the entire electromagnetic spectrum by linking it to the output of an ultrafast laser. The program aims to develop novel sources of radiation that improve upon existing state-of-the-art performance, size, weight, and power.
Expeditionary Warfare C4 Technologies
The Office of Naval Research is inviting grant and contract applications for innovative Command, Control, Computers and Communication technologies that will enhance the warfighting capabilities of Naval Expeditionary forces. These technology areas include: Basic Research (phenomenology: TRL 1-2) in Mathematical Trust Models; Applied Research (proof of concept: TRL 2-4) in HF Antennas; and Advanced Technology Development (military utility demonstration
and prototyping: TRL 4-6) in Broadband Amplifiers and Adaptable Antennas.
CSTAR Collaborative Meteorological Forecasting
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is inviting cooperative agreement applications for the CSTAR program (Collaborative Science, Technology, and Applied Research), which supports collaborative research between operational forecasters and academic institutions with expertise in the environmental sciences.
Materials World International Collaborations
The National Science Foundation is inviting grant applications for international collaborations in fundamental materials and condensed matter research. This year the Materials World Network (MWN) program will emphasize Sustainable Materials, the NSF Division of Materials Research (DMR)'s effort in Sustainable Chemistry, Engineering and Materials (SusChEM). This initiative supports the basic science and engineering discoveries that will reduce dependence on non-renewable resources and improve efficiency of industrial processes.
Computational and Data-Enabled Science, Engineering
The National Science Foundation is inviting grant applications for fundamental research in mathematics and statistics that addresses the computational and data-related challenges represented by the ever-expanding role of computational modeling and simulation on the one hand, and the explosion in production of digital and observational data on the other. The goal is to promote the creation and development of the next generation of mathematical and statistical theories and
Improvements to Biological Field Stations, Marine Labs
The National Science Foundation is inviting grant applications for Improvements in Facilities, Communications, and Equipment at Biological Field Stations and Marine Laboratories (FSML): off-campus facilities for research and education conducted in the natural habitats of terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems.
Breast Cancer Research
Susan G. Komen for the Cure is inviting grant applications for breast cancer research. The oundation emphasizes the translation of knowledge about the basic biology of breast cancer into treatment, early detection, and prevention, with the goal of supporting work that has significant potential to lead to reductions in incidence and mortality within the decade. The program will support grants in four categories: Challenge Grants Investigator-Initiated Research, Challenge Grants Career Catalyst Research, Investigator-Initiated Research, and Career Catalyst Research.
American-Scandinavian Foundation
The American-Scandinavian Foundation is inviting applications for grants and fellowships in a variety of categories, including awards to Americans for study in Scandinavia, for Scandinavians to study and conduct research in America, and for visiting lectureships that enable American universities to host Norwegian or Swedish lecturers. Visiting lectureships should be in the area of contemporary studies, with an emphasis on one of five areas: public policy, conflict resolution, environmental studies, multiculturalism, or healthcare.
French-U.S. Collaboration: Computational Neuroscience
The National Science Foundation has issued a Dear Colleague Letter inviting grant applications for U.S.-French collaborative research projects in computational neuroscience. Computational
neuroscience is inclusively defined, encompassing a broad range of computational and biological goals and approaches. Collaborations should exploit complementary expertise, enabling the collaborating investigators to pursue innovative research approaches and make significant advances on important and challenging problems.
Isotope Production Research, Development, Training
The Department of Energy is inviting grant applications for Research and Development (R&D) on alternative methods to produce enriched stable and radioactive isotopes. The project should generate data or lead to new and innovative technologies, or improvements to existing technologies, to foster enhanced production of isotopes that will benefit research and applications in medicine, homeland security, the physical sciences, biological and geological sciences, energy, and industry.
